What’s therapy like?
Therapy can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be! Telling your story and sharing your deepest thoughts and fears may make you feel like you don’t even know where to start. I get it! I’ve been there! Therapy is your time and space to unlock the healing potential you already have within you.
My personal experience as a client and my professional training both influence how I work with individuals.
I describe my style as direct with healthy doses of compassion, respect, and empathy. I will challenge you, but only as quickly and intensely as feels right for you, on that day and in that moment. You are in the driver seat when we’re working together. I am by your side to help guide you through whatever may be blocking your untapped strengths so that clarity and transformation become familiar states of being.
Staying informed on current research in psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience is my JAM! As such, my practice is deeply connected to Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, and Existential therapies. I weave these modalities throughout my work with clients from session to session, and sometimes all of them in a single session! What is most important in my work is that YOU feel seen, validated, and supported as you take your first steps toward transforming relationships with yourself and with others.
Most of the clients I work with identify with one or more of the following descriptors:
People in the Gen Z (ages 16-22) or Millennial (ages 23-40) generations
...who are in transition, whether it be coming out of or growing into a new job/relationship/school, or who might be taking on a new identity or role in their life.
...who struggle with anxiety that impedes their ability to live fully and authentically. Especially, those fierce folks who wear a mask and don’t always let on to what they may be battling within.
...who are experiencing grief and loss, whether it be the loss of a loved one, the loss of one’s role in a community or relationship, or the anticipation of a loss.
...who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and could be at any stage of embracing and exploring their identity.
...who wish to explore their racial and cultural identities and how those identities impact the way in which they move through our world.
Fees & Insurance
Individual sessions are $120/hour.
I am in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO plans. This does not include BCBS HealthSelect or BCBS HMO insurances.
If you are on another insurance plan, I am happy to provide you with a statement at the end of each month so that you may file for out-of-network reimbursement, if that is available through your insurance coverage. This route does require you to pay my full fee out-of-pocket each session.
